VoltageLab: NEC Exam Prep — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VoltageLab (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the VoltageLab: NEC Exam Prep mobile application and related services (the “App”), available on iOS and Android.

1) Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account details when you register or sign in — name, email address, and profile image if you choose to add one.
• Your exam profile — the state you are studying for and the licence class you selected.
• Messages you send us for support.

Information created as you use the App

• Your answers, scores, mock exam sittings, streaks, and readiness figures.
• Coin balances, unlocks, and subscription status.

Information collected automatically

• Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate region.
• Crash reports and diagnostic logs.
• App usage events — screens opened and features used.
• Session analytics. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the App is used. Clarity records interaction data such as taps, scrolls, and screen transitions, and reconstructs them as session replays. We do not use Clarity to capture the contents of password fields.

2) How We Use Your Information

• To provide the App: serving practice questions, assembling mock exams to your state’s format, scoring sittings, and tracking readiness over time.
• To keep your progress in sync across your devices.
• To grant and maintain access to Pro features you have purchased.
• To send notifications you have enabled, such as study reminders.
• To diagnose crashes, fix defects, and improve question quality.
• To detect abuse and protect the security of the service.

3) Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information with service providers that help us operate the App, and only as necessary for them to provide that service to us:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, cloud messaging, analytics, and crash reporting.
• RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat receives your app user identifier and purchase records so we can grant the right access.
• Apple App Store and Google Play — payment processing and purchase validation.
• Microsoft Clarity — session analytics, as described above.
• Sign-in providers — Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple, if you use them to sign in.
• Hosting and backend infrastructure — the servers that run the App’s API and database.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

4) Advertising

The App includes advertising components (IronSource and Unity Ads) which support an optional rewarded-video feature. Advertising is currently disabled and no ads are served. If we enable advertising in future, these providers may process advertising identifiers and coarse device data to select and measure ads, we will update this Policy before doing so, and we will request consent where the law requires it.

5) Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the App, and are managed through RevenueCat.

We do not collect or store full payment card details. We receive subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction identifiers so that we can enable Pro features on your account.

6) Data Retention

We keep your account and study history for as long as your account is active, so that your progress and readiness history remain available to you. Crash and diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting reasons are retained for as long as the law requires.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Section 9.

7) Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for adults preparing for electrical licensing examinations and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8) Legal Bases and Your Rights

Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the App), on the basis of your consent (notifications, and advertising if enabled), and for our legitimate interests (security, and improving the App).

Subject to local law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

9) Your Choices

• Notifications — turn push notifications off in your device settings at any time.
• Permissions — camera and photo access are requested only if you choose to set a profile image, and can be revoked in device settings.
• Account deletion — use the delete-account option in the App, or email us at voltagelabbd@gmail.com and we will delete your account and study history.

10) Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11) International Users

We operate from Bangladesh and our service providers operate in the United States and elsewhere. If you use the App from outside these countries, your information will be transferred to and processed in them, under safeguards appropriate to the transfer.

12) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will give notice in the App.
